Zoella Beauty: Fizz Bar Review

Zoella Beauty Fizz Bar

Unless you've been hiding under a rock recently, you'll have heard all about Zoe Sugg's new beauty range which was released in the last few days. As a fan of 'Zoella' myself, I thought I would indulge my curiosity and try out the product that most appealed to me. The Fizz bar seems the most interesting item available; shaped like a chocolate bar and able to break off into handy chunks as & when you like.

The first thing I did when I opened this was have a little smell. The best thing about a lovely bath product is having something with a gorgeous scent, am I right? The Fizz Bar is sweet, a little floral but very light and pleasant. I think scent is such a personal thing, and you aren't going to please everyone every time. Personally floral scents are my favourite, I'm definitely more of a fan of light and sweet rather than stronger woody/spicy perfumes, so the Fizz Bar caters perfectly to me. You might want to have a smell of the body mist Zoella has also released, as I have heard this is the same sort of scent. So then you can decide if you like it before you buy the Fizz Bar.

Once popped in the bath, the little chunks began fizzing away and sent my bathtub into a little bubbly lather. Not like a bubble bath I might add, just little poppets of fizz bursting under the water. It left the water with what I can only describe as a silky touch, and heavenly scent. My skin felt really smooth and soft afterwards, and I have quite sensitive skin so I'm impressed it didn't cause a reaction.

Overall I think the Fizz Bar is a wonderful new addition to my relaxing bath routine. I'm fairly pleased with it and wouldn't mind recommending you guys to try it. Even if it's just for the sheer fun and satisfaction of tearing off a chunk or two and watching it fizz away! It's not mind blowing or so amazing that I'm going to buy it all the time, but I will happily pop it in with my shopping every now and again as a treat. You can't moan that her whole range isn't affordable, as everything is reasonably priced in my opinion. Which I think it should be since she has such a young target audience mostly. And this definitely feels more luxurious than the price tag would suggest.

Will you be trying any of the Zoella Beauty range?

  2. I think the novelty of the shape and the ability to break chunks off is what makes this bar what it is.
I have watched Zoella for a couple years but don't think I'll b trying her range as I can't see it being cruelty free!
    Nice review!

  5. Well, uh, I don't know if this might cause the brains of some bloggers to melt, but I don't really know who Zoella is! I've heard of her, and so I heard that she was releasing a range, but other than that... Nope. Still, I think this is really cute! It's quite a pretty concept that it breaks off into chunks, I haven't seen many nice bath products lately. I doubt this will be available where I live and it won't be a huge loss to me, but otherwise it'd definitely be something that'd catch my eye.

    1. Aww that's a shame you can't try it! Nevermind. Haha don't worry I'm sure lots of bloggers haven't heard of her, it's just she's one of the really big ones these days I guess. xx

  6. I'm not a huge Zoella fan or anything, in fact, I think I've only read one or two of her posts; however it's hard not to notice the hype around her new beauty range and seriously, fair play to her! Of all the products, I think the Fizz Bar appeals to me most, (along with the guinea pig makeup bag but that's cause I'm a massive piggy lover ha) but unfortunately I don't have a bath in my current apartment, (nightmare, I know) and also I can't get my hands on them over here. Lovely review though :) xxx

    1. I feel exactly the same Kirsty, fair play to her! She's done great and anyone in her position would do the same if they had the chance. I think they're some nice products, but not world changing. Happy to try one or two though, and I'm not left disappointed :) xx

    1. Yep! Definitely have a sniff about first, because everyone likes different scents! I really like this so I'm happy but as I say sniff the body mist to see how you feel about it first :) xx

  8. I liked the look of the body lotion (don't have a bath so bubble baths and bath bombs aren't much use to me!), but I found it strange that the scent wasn't described on the superdrug website, so thank you for describing it! I assume they all smell similar anyway.

  9. It's almost like a bath bomb in bar shape! I don't have many baths but it does sound very nice. Going to wait for all the reviews of the products before I buy some stuff in case it's just all hype! x

  10. I can not wait to try these, I agree with you I'm more of a light and floral scent girl, and the chocolate bar shape does look great (accompanied by a real bath time chocolate bar me thinks..)

  19. This is a great review, thanks for posting it! I love light floral fragrances and the body spray was the main thing I wanted from her range, so will definitely give it and this a try! What a great little product if it moisturises skin while also making your bath fizzy - I would buy it just for that haha!

  25. First off I just want to say how stunning your photos are! Now, I have to admit I was sceptical of this range. I mean, you hear of reality stars and such adding their name to anything and well you start to tar people with the same brush. However I'm starting to think this range really has been done with care. I loved your write up of the fizz bar, and I think I'm going to have to see for myself now :) x
