Month In Review

Happy Leap day guys! Hope you had fun with your 'extra day' this year, and it was a goodun'. This month seems to have gone by so quick for me personally, I can't believe it!

Highlights have included my stationery collaboration with Paperhaul, getting a new phone (because who doesn't love that?!), being on the cover of Love From magazine (yay!), going the movies with friends, buying the cutest new outfit, working with some amazing brands and hanging out with Gary. The weeks go by so quickly and I wish I had more time to sit back and take things a little slower sometimes!

Gracing my sidebar we've had the most amazing collection of advertisers. These guys have truly been a pleasure to get to know, and to have. Firstly we have Fiona, who has always been a pleasure, but especially this month! Chatting with her and having that support has been so lovely. Then there's Holly who I consider to be one of my all time blogger BFF's now. She gets my weird/twisted humour, doesn't judge, and is a huge Leo fan too. I like her a lot. Kelly is someone I've talked to and admired for a long time, and it's amazing to see her blog grow and develop. She's a babe I someday hope to meet. Matt's the only male in my sidebar this month, which automatically earns him a crown I reckon. He's an amazing lifestyle blogger & I'm so glad to have featured him this month. Jasmine was blogging about cat videos during the month and I had to say this made me love her even more. It's also been a pleasure to have Sam in my sidebar and get to know her more! Her blog is a little of everything which I adore. Kirstie's blog has become one of my faves this month! She's a perfect example of why advertising can be so good. It helped me get to know her and her blog and I've fallen head over heels! Her photos are GOALS. Lis is another angel who has graced my sidebar and left me a huge fan! I'm so glad to have this girl (her content is amazing!). And finally we have Livvy who has written about some great stuff this past month, like not drinking.

It's fair to say I've spent more time reading blogs this month. I've enjoyed sitting down and getting lost in someone's little online world, it's so cool.

Downsides to the month..? Probably just not getting much time 'off' as always haha. Must try harder...

How did February go for you guys?

5 Tips For Long Distance Relationships

Hi guys, I hope you're having a great weekend so far. I'm feeling pretty motivated and inspired right now, so I'm hoping that feeling is here to stay!
A lot of you already know of my boyfriend Gary (he's usually that weirdo in my Snapchats with me!) and some of you may already know that he's originally from Plymouth. When we first met he still lived down south, and with myself here in Liverpool it was impossible to date 'normally', and so we had to get creative. We did long distance for the first 18 months of our relationship, which is pretty impressive I think. Especially because we did it as a new couple, not an already deeply committed relationship that then deals with long distance. So yeah I'm pretty proud of us to be honest, and I think we did brilliantly considering the challenges.
So I thought today I'd share with you my top tips for doing long distance successfully. Now obviously I can only speak from my own experiences, but I hope this might help one or two of you if you are currently going through this. It doesn't have to be the worst thing ever! :)

The Power Of Blogging And Social Media

Writing has always been an escape for me. An experience of pure joy, honesty, relief or inspiration. Ever since I was a little girl who would get carried away writing stories in school, to feel so proud when the teachers would tell me how imaginative they were, to hear them read aloud to the class as examples; writing has always been a good thing to me. A necessary and wonderful thing which shaped me into who I am.

With the technological developments that have happened since I was much younger, and sharing your writing with the world being such a normal thing now, it was kind of obvious that I'd delve into blogging I guess. And as much as I love it, even more than ever; today I wanted to talk about some of my worries about writing.

I don't have anywhere near the audience of some people, obviously. I'm just a girl from Liverpool who sometimes has some people follow her and keep up with her blog posts. I know that, I just needed to say that before I go into this next part okay? I'm not trying to suggest I'm some bloody superstar over here, LOLZ. But lately, I'm more aware of what I write about, and the people who are viewing these words all across the world. I was recently featured in my local paper, and my old co-workers got in touch with me to say they'd seen it. I share my blog posts on my Facebook, where family and friends can click and visit this blog any time they like. I have almost 10,000 people following me on Twitter, and almost 5000 on Instagram. When a new blog post goes live and I promote it on these social accounts, I can see the numbers going up. I can almost feel the eyes on my blog in those moments.

This is a fantastic and amazing thing, something that continues to inspire me. After all, it's what I want... isn't it?

Urban Decay Gwen Stefani Blush Palette

urban decay gwen stefani blush palette

Gwen Stefani always reminds me of being a young teen, at a huge high point in her career with No Doubt; I was still at school and I idolised her look. I think the 'Hollaback Girl' video put her in my top 10 women forever. Over ten years later and she's still a huge style inspiration for me. Whether it be an elegant look for an awards show, or a day to day casual look while out and about; she always looks totally ON POINT (I promise to never say anything so lame ever again, but you know what I mean, right?!).

So when I heard she had collaborated with Urban Decay to create a unique collection in her signature styles, I almost tripped over my own tongue from drooling. I was GAGGING for it, basically (that's sure to make Google think I'm writing a well dodgy blog). There have been a few posts on my favourite blogs featuring Gwen's eyeshadow palette and lippies, and I'm keen to get my hands on them for sure.

However when House of Fraser offered me the chance to review something of my choice, I decided to go for the Blush palette, as I haven't seen as much on that as of yet; plus I need more blushers in my life!

urban decay blush palette

gwen blush palette

First of all; the packaging. While I think the outer packaging looks luxurious in black and gold, the darker shades probably aren't my thing. The palette itself though is AMAZING. A beautiful white casing with gold feature, which is much more up my street. I fell in love looking at it.

The palette itself is made up of six shades of blusher; Cherry, Easy, Angel, Lo-Fi, Hush, OC. Easy, Angel and Hush are shimmers while the other three are matte shades, which gives a good balance for everyone whatever your preference. Personally I can't resist a good shimmer, I do love to glow a little. For the past week I've found myself experimenting, trying out all the shades. My favourites are definitely Cherry and Easy; the more pink tones. However I did find myself loving them all in one way or another. The only shade I probably won't use as much is the 'Lo-Fi'; and only because I think it's a little dark for my skin tone. I could probably get away with using this as an eyeshadow though!

The first thing I noticed when using this palette was the great pigmentation. Seriously, upon first use I had a 'Woah!' moment when I realised I'd picked up too much on my brush and made myself look a little too 'blushing'. The quality is amazing and it's fair to say I wasn't expecting to be so wowed, even though I knew it;d be good. I can see this lasting me a long time because a little goes a long way!

Overall I'm SO happy with this beautiful addition to my collection, and I'll definitely be checking out the other products in the range. I can hear those lippies calling out to me...

What do you guys think of the range? Will you be trying any of it? :)
(If you're thinking of it, the blush palette is a truly FAB choice!)

The Coffee Table Edit

coffee table accessories
Happy Tuesday guys! Let's hope the start of the week has been kind to you all. For me it's been a busy one already, but really nice (the girl gang chat last night especially brought a smile to my face!). I've been adding the finishing touches to our flat this week (after a bloody year of living here), with a new TV, a brand new sofa finally arriving this coming weekend, and starting to sort out my office once and for all.
It's starting to feel really homely around here, and I can't wait to give you a whole tour (hopefully) soon. However in the meantime, I wanted to show you some sneak peeks of how I've been updating little parts of our home, and adding small finishing touches to places to give them a little more style, hopefully!

I'll be doing these sort of posts every so often now, and I hope you enjoy seeing snippets of my home and where I live/how I organise things, because I've wanted to do this for so long! :) If that's not your thing, that's fine! However for you other homely geeks out there, today I wanted to chat about my coffee table.

Making Your Blog Photos Stand Out

If you were to ask me what my favourite thing about blogging was apart from actually getting to write and share my thoughts with the world; it would be taking photographs. Over the past 2 years I've learned more about photography from blogging than I ever did when I actually studied Photography at A Level in College. Seriously. And it's been amazing.

At college we learned the basics of how to use different cameras, and how to develop our own images, but I feel that blogging has brought me even more knowledge and passion than my tutors ever did, unfortunately. Blogging has made me want to constantly improve my images and how I can get creative through the lens. I feel I've now learned a few things now that help my images stand out, and really represent me and my blog, even when lost in a sea of other bloggers.

The camera I use for all my blog photos, if anyone is interested; is the Canon EOS Rebel T2I. It's one I've had for years, and I basically stole it from Gary, lol. However it is only in recent month's I've really pushed myself into learning how to use it manually, and I've found it so helpful. Adjusting even the smallest of settings and focusing yourself can really make an image POP.

The Best Week Ever, Giveaway & A Catch Up

Lush Fairy Dust

GUYS, oh my god we really need a catch up don't we? I feel like I haven't had a chance to sit down and just type and update you lovely readers in the longest time. Maybe a few weeks?! That feels incredibly weird. Sorry, I'll try not to go that long again ;)

I'll start by squealing over how well this week has gone! I get so busy sometimes that I barely have time for a proper night's sleep, to pamper myself or to even hang out with friends. Basically anything good or normal, haha. However this week, amidst the madness of my schedule I managed to indulge in using lots of my recent Lush goodies; like Prince Charming (mmmmm), Unicorn Horn (SO GOOD) and even throwing some Fairy Dust all over myself for extra fairy princess feels. It felt really good to even just take an hour to relax and think of myself to be honest.

I also finally went and got my thumb tattoos, which I've been wanting for at least 2 years! I'm so incredibly happy with how they turned out, and they didn't even hurt! I already have another finger tattoo, which I got years ago; but I remember that one being super painful. So I was really surprised on Wednesday when I got a moon and planet tattoo on each of my thumbs, and it felt completely fine!

LancĂ´me Spring Collection Wishlist & Free Gift

Ever since I was stealing my mum's lippies around age 7 I've been pretty obsessed with makeup. The endless amount of options, the way you can change how you're seen to the world instantly, and how it can make you feel so much more confident. There's something quite awesome about that I think.

LancĂ´me's Spring collection is one of the prettiest I've seen around lately, and it's even got me all excited for the warmer months (which is pretty impressive, since I usually dislike them!). I thought today I would share my top picks from their Spring collection, and share with you what I'm lusting after. If you decide to order any LancĂ´me goodies (over $39.50), you can also take advantage of Nordstrom Coupons and get a free gift too!

5 Ways I'm Still An Emo Stuck In 2006

2006 was probably the height of my emo 'phase'. I was 17/18 and despite the contradiction here, it was probably the happiest time of my life. You know, before grown up life set in, before any real heartbreak and before anything super bad ever happened to me for the most part. I was young, free, studying Art and Design at college and loving it. I was out with friends every single week, had money to burn and no responsibilities.

I was also a total fucking emo. I recently shared one or two photos from this time on Twitter and Insta, for the lols. And oh did the lols come in heavily...

I'm glad a fair few things have changed since then. However, since this blog is a place of honesty, here are 5 ways in which I'm still a total fucking emo/scene kid (except all grown up and lame).

15 Ways To Be A Unicorn

15 ways to be a unicorn

Before you all think I've gone a little mad with this blog post, bear with me. You know those rare people who go through life and seem to leave a little trail of sparkles behind them wherever they go? Yeah I want to be one of those people. I want to be a unicorn. I want to be a little bit special, I want to leave an impression, I want to be sparkly and cute and full of joy.

Here's how I plan to be more 'unicorn-like'...

1. Embrace glitter! I plan on adding a little more glitter and colour to my everyday makeup (Lima is a huge fucking inspiration for this) and glitzing things up a bit. Total unicorn feelz.

2. Speaking of colour; bring more into your everyday outfits! Even if it's subtle. Cute pink glittery shoes, or a vibrant handbag can make a dull outfit seem a little bit more special.

3. Spread a lil joy. Go on, make someone feel all mushy and nice ^__^ I have some tips here. That's v unicorn-like IMO.

4. Paint each nail a different colour, because why not?! The rainbow look is in (okay I dunno but I like rainbows).

5. Make your Instagram theme a little brighter, more colourful, and happy.

6. Be fearless. Unicorns are majestic creatures who take leaps and bounds into the unknown. Take a risk!

7. Chase your dreams. Whatever it is you really wanna do in life, take a step towards it's today. Research the role, take a class, speak to a mentor.

8. Exude confidence. Stand tall, chin up, eyes forward, and full smile. You got this.

9. Visit Lush. Because let's face it they have every product under the sun to make showers/baths more magical (including the Unicorn Horn bubble bar!).

10. Be different. Figure out how you can stand out in the world, and really be remembered. It can be for how you make people feel, or what you do with your time.

11. Dye your hair a crazy colour, just once in your life. It's fine, you can change it back if you hate it. But experiment with that magical mane.

12. Be yourself. Unicorns are not sheep. They are unicorns.

13. Educate yourself. Aint' nothing more beautiful and magical than a person bettering themselves from the inside out. Learn a new language, find out how something works, or why it doesn't.

14. Take your time. Unicorns do not run on anyone else's schedule. Do things at your own pace, and revel in each new step you take.

15. Take a stand. Be passionate and stand up for what you believe. Be a voice for those who don't have one, and don't back down when faced with difficult times. We're all tested in some way or another, but we get to choose how we handle it.

So there we have it. My fifteen steps to being a total unicorn/bad ass babe.
I'll be printing this list off and taping it to my wall as a daily reminder, and I hope it helps you guys feel a little more special too.

Will you be trying to be a little more 'unicorn-like'?

Drunk Dork / Things I Never Say

I'm so sorry for the crappy image, but I HAVE to include an image, and I'm never sure what images to use for these things. So I just took that ^ Like.. right now.

Anyway. I'm kinda drunk. Not totally battered, but you know; that sort of perfect messy? I thought it was about time I did another one of these brain splurges.

Right now I'm listening to Alkaline Trio - Fuck You Aurora, just in case you want to know for context and things. This song gives me so many feels, for so many different reasons. Mostly regret I'd say. So you would think I'd stop listening, but I also adore it haha.
I can feel a friendship slipping, and there's nothing I can do to fix it. I hate it. The more I mention it though, the more it seems to fade. And trying to fix it.. well, I am trying. But it seems pointless right now. And I believe the other person when they say it's not intentional, but.. it could be stopped? You know? Surely.

I'm actually in a good-ish mood, but I'm also thinking about some things that aren't great I guess. The people I miss, the things I'm not doing, how I'm not quite the person I want to be yet. I never really say out loud, or even written down I guess, OR even in my own head... how insanely worried I am. Focusing on the positive all the time really helps me. But it doesn't mean I don't have any problems, or these troubling thoughts don't enter my head and really nestle in there. Because they do.

8 Ways Life Would Be Different Without Instagram

Where would I be without Instagram? I mean, sure, I can remember living without it, and I can remember my very first post (it was crap); but if I were to go cold turkey NOW? I'd probably be a little lost to say the least. As much as I hate to admit it (Okay I dont, I'm not arsed tbh) I'm definitely addicted to Instagram.

Here's how I imagine life would be without it.

instagram flatlay

1. I wouldn't know what anybody else was eating. Breakfast, lunches, snacks; where would I get all my inspo from?? I wouldn't know others favor avocado while I'm munching away on my Frosted Shreddies.

2. I wouldn't be as motivated. I mean, where would I get my daily quote overload from? If Jackie from Wales didn't post a morning 'Live today as if it's your last!' quote, then I might have wasted last Sunday sat in my knickers watching cartoons. Oh, wait...

3. Honestly, without Instagram I wouldn't be so connected with other artists/illustrators/creatives like I am now. I find a lot blogging, but there are so many I chat to and who inspire me; that don't blog! I can't imagine not getting this photographic insight into their work.

4. Not as many lols would be had, nosing at people I went to school with. Sure Amy you were popular and bitchy as fuck back then, but not so braggy now that you have 4 kids, no job and can't even go without making spelling mistake in your Insta caption eh? Maybe you should have listened in English rather than demanding attention every few minutes...

5. Without Instagram, my dress sense would still be like a cross between a 90's throwback and 2005 emo kid. OKAY IT IS ANYWAY, SORT OF. But I also now know how to style blazers, cute skirt/cardigan combos and even really fancy dresses. Yes, Instagram gives me all the outfit inspiration I need really so I have to be grateful.

6. I wouldn't know people are as obsessed with their pets as I am! I haven't gone into full crazy cat lady mode just yet, creating an account just for Luna; but it doesn't stop me being into other people's. Yes I want to see your dogs/cats/tortoise's daily life.

7. Let's be honest, our photography skills wouldn't be nearly as good. Sure a lot of us are bloggers are try to improve this skill anyway. But for the average joe, daily photos wouldn't be a thing otherwise. And isn't it kind of lovely/hilarious/weird to hear your nan moan about natural light and flat flays? (I imagine. My nannies are both dead and gone, but I'm sure they'd have had a hella good theme otherwise.)

8. Without Instagram wtf would I do while waiting for a bus? Really though??

Could you live without Instagram?

Travel Wishlist / That Time I Almost Booked Plane Tickets Drunk

Can I share a little confession with you guys? There's one type of blog I never really read (save for a special one or two at most) - and that's travel blogs. It's not that I'm not interested, or that I don't like them; in fact it's for the opposite reason... it kills me. I love them. But I get so effing jealous seeing where other people are flying off to, while I'm stuck here in little ol' Liverpool again. I can't bear to see your latest holiday snaps, your recent month long trek around the rainforest or hear about the moment where you really got lost 'in a moment' on top of a mountain.

I want to live it myself, I want to travel all around the world. I hate the thought of living a boring life stuck in one place, so I've promised myself (as boring as this is) I'll save time and money to ensure a good trip every single year. I figure that's doable, and better than nothing. And no, cheap beach holidays to Spain aren't going to cut it. Not that there's anything wrong with that, but I'm after something a little different.

Jurlique Essentials

jurlique beauty products

Jurlique are a brand long overdue to be featured on my blog, as I've found myself falling in love with so many of their products over the past year. They never fail to surprise and wow me, and today I'd like to chat  about my two absolute favourites from my Jurlique stash; The Rose Hand Cream & The Rosewater Balancing Mist.

jurlique beauty

Up until last year I never really used hand cream (eek), and this kind of horrifies me now. However when I was working in an office all day (yes I did used to have a 'proper' job!) I got into the habit of using it, and I've never looked back.

Jurlique's Rose Hand Cream has become my number one product of choice to lather my ever busy hands in. As well as smelling beautiful, the luxurious cream blends into my skin easily; nourishing my hands without leaving them at all greasy. I can't bear greasy creams, especially on my hands. I spend all day drawing and typing, the last thing I need is slippy mitts! This boasts apparently keeping hands looking youthful and smooth as heck too, so my (soft) fingers are crossed that they will stay young, haha.

jurlique rosewater balancing mist

The other must have skincare product from Jurlique is definitely the Rosewater Balancing Mist, seriously you want this stuff. I have the 50ml bottle, and that has lasted me so long already. One pump covers my whole face and leaves my skin feeling soft and supple. I tend to use this once in the morning before applying my makeup, and in the evening before going to bed. The scent is beautiful, subtle and definitely not irritating; as I had initially worried. This has now become such a staple part of my routine that if I know I'll be staying overnight anywhere, I won't go without it.

I have a bunch more Jurlique products that I love, but these two are definitely my favourites.
Have you tried Jurlique yet?

Lush Valentines Collection & More

Lush valentines haul

unicorn horn lush

Recently I had the pleasure of visiting Lush Market Street Manchester, for a special event celebrating their recent launch of the amazing Valentines collection. It was my first time going to a Lush event, and I was super excited. Especially as I got to go along with Caitlin!

We met up last week; late afternoon for a shop, giggle and a gossip, before heading down to Market Street for the event at 7:30pm. I was so keen to get a proper look at the Valentines range, and have the shop to ourselves without customers! In my local Liverpool store, it's always SO busy and practically heaving with people that it's sometimes impossible to have a nice browse and appreciate everything. I was practically giddy at the thought of a quiet browse and being able to take as many photos as I liked.

Rose Gold Jewellery With Buckley London

jewellery buckley london

It's gotten to the point now where I totally associate rose gold with bloggers (the same goes for marble and white space). We can't seem to help ourselves when we see that gleaming beauty on anything; be it candle holders, stationery, or like me this week; jewellery.

I'm quite particular about jewellery, in that I only wear pieces I truly love. I won't wear anything that I think is just 'okay' - I've got to think it's truly beautiful or totally my style in some way. I'll happily go without wearing any otherwise. And that's not to say I'm a total snob either; price doesn't matter to me. It could cost £1 or £1000, my purchasing something only depends on how much I like it (although if I'm spending £1k I damn well better love it). This means I take a lot of care when it comes to my jewellery collection, each piece is loved and looked after, and brought out for the perfect occasion.

Five Favourite Lifestyle Blogs

lifestyle blogs
Not to be dramatic, but this was probably one of the hardest posts I've wrote in a long time! Yes, really! I found it so, so hard to choose five lifestyle blogs I consider the best of the best. Lifestyle is my favourite category in blogging, and I have many blogs bookmarked that I visit frequently. I narrowed the list down to 9, and I knew I had a problem. I decided to take out anyone I didn't consider 'as lifestyle-y' as the others, or anyone who I knew could go in another list in future. For example, there were two blogs I took off the final five, because even though I ADORE them; I'm going to put them a list of '5 blogs that inspire me' sometime.

So I finally got it down to five. These are five lifestyle blogs I love to indulge in when I really need a great read; a blog to get me thinking, to make me see something in a new way, or make me laugh out loud.

I hope you enjoy!

5 Ways To Pamper Yourself

baylis and harding products

There's no better day to pamper yourself than a Sunday is there?! No matter what my schedule is, whether Sunday is a work day or a day off for me, I always see it as the one time of week when I need to make time for myself and get my pamper on.

Cutest Toy Haul

I'm probably the female version of Peter Pan; never wanting to grow up. My birth certificate might reveal me to be 27, but my heart is telling me I'm much younger really.

This week while out and about browsing, I couldn't help but find myself in the Disney store (as you do). Every time I go in there I'm always captivated by the sights and sounds, the colours and the feeling of utter joy. It still feels as magic as it did when I was a young child to be honest! So I'm always finding a bunch of stuff in there I want to buy (especially Tsum Tsums!)

However this time I was over the moon to see Disney princess dolls, especially Ariel. If you know me by now, you know The Little Mermaid will always be my favourite Disney film. Reduced down to £10, I knew I had to buy her (even if Gary was laughing at me).

Willow Jewellery

gift boxes

As I write this post, I'm wearing a tee with moon and stars on, I'm 12 days away from my next tattoos (a moon and planet on my thumbs) and I'm wearing a glittery moon shaped hair clip. I think it's fair to say I'm pretty in love with anything celestial themed.

I've always thought patterns, trinkets or jewellery of moons, planets, stars were quirky, and tend to have a beautiful ethereal quality to them. So when Willow sent me out a range of their handmade jewellery; I was thrilled!

Willow is a handmade jewellery business based on Edinburgh, and created by the talented Natasha Cornall. Her work is geometric and celestial inspired, focusing on deep black designs with a hint of gold for the perfect combination.

8 Things I Do And Don't Miss About Dating

With Valentines coming up, it got me thinking about relationships and dating. Sure, Gary and I go on dates, and regularly make an effort to keep that loveliness there even after almost five years. But I no longer describe us as 'dating'. We live together, we have a cat, we've met each other's families; we're a lot more serious than what 'dating' would imply.

Truth is I haven't been single in a long time now, and I honestly think I'd be hopeless at it. Dating apps weren't reaaallly a thing the last time I was single, for starters. Now everyone and their mum is using them.

So today I thought, for the lolz, I'd share with you some of the things I do and don't miss about dating. Let me know if you can relate to any!

The Cutest Little Giveaway With Getting Personal

glass gift token

gift token valentines

Remember a few days ago I was spouting about making Valentines for everyone this year? Well, I weren't kidding guys, I really am determined to spread some love to everyone close to me this year. For starters, obviously Gary and I are gonna be like Cupid on crack, as per usual. But I'll also be gifting some of my friends wherever I can (even if it's just a card, some chocolates, etc!) and making sure my nearest and dearest feel loved.

With that in mind, the glass token above from Getting Personal was the perfect little addition to my little pamper hamper I'm creating for my Mum. I really want to make my mum feel special this year, and know just how loved she is. A few years ago my Dad died, and obviously this has left us feeling like we have a hole that will never be filled again. I realised that Valentines must be extra hard for my mum, with constant reminders that people are with their loves, and she's not. To be honest even just typing that has made me tear up a little, as I cannot bear the thought of my mum carrying such sadness. So this year, I hope to shower her in so much love she will feel happy and appreciated, and maybe even comforted.

February

Hello lovelies! Happy first of the month, this year is going too fast, blah blah blah and all that malarkey! I hope January treated you well, and 2016 is looking good already for you.

This month looks to be a fun one for me; I'm about to begin planning the very first event for #TheGirlGang (and my first event ever, eek!) which will be coming in the Summer. I'm booked in to get more tattoos FINALLY! And I have lots of lovely projects under way, which you'll hear more of very soon. So yeah, February looks good! As much as I love Winter, I'm also excited to start creeping closer to Spring too; it's been very hard photographing things with such dark days and no 'proper' lighting equipment! Hopefully I'll be buying myself some lighting soon though, I keep meaning to.

Sweet Valentines With Cheerz

Whether you're more excited for Valentines or Pancake Day, February brings new reasons to celebrate and be excited for the month ahead. Yes I'm totally on board getting excited over chocolate chip pancakes, mmm....

Valentines day though, for some people can be a right pain in the butt if they aren't loved up. And I get it, I really do. It's annoying that there's a day with annoying couple's showing off their love all over the place or seeing more PDA than is ever needed. I'm in a couple, and even I'll say that's super sickly, and I avoid Facebook on V day, as it kind of makes me hate people in general.

However, that being said - I am still a huge fan of Valentines. And not just because I'm in a relationship; but because I've always liked it! Even when I was single, I used it as an excuse to just show some extra love to the people I cared about most, and completely pamper myself. I fully agree that you shouldn't just do this once a year, but you know what? Having a reminder to treat someone nicely isn't a bad thing. I'm a very lucky girlfriend all year round, and I'd like to think I'm a romantic and loving girlfriend; but that doesn't stop Gary and I celebrating Valentines anyway. It's nice to be nice, and all that. Same goes for spreading the love to family and friends.
