#DressupwithGeorge*

Recently I was offered to be a part of the #DressupwithGeorge campaign from George at Asda*, and I decided to take this as a great opportunity to refresh my wardrobe for Spring. I've always appreciated the quality of George's clothing range for such affordable prices, and I've gotten plenty of my basics there before (tees, vests, underwear, cardigans). However I've never really considered how vast their range is until this campaign come onto my radar, and I was so pleasantly surprised!

I was able to choose a few pieces I thought would be best for me, and you can see all the items I decided on shown above. I really took this as an opportunity to welcome Spring, and also go a little girlier than usual. Pink, florals, skirts and dresses are part of my new challenge for Spring/Summer and the items I chose are so beautiful.

The two pieces I fell most in love with are the long pleated peach flowy skirt and the floral kimono dress; because they both surprised me more than anything. I'm not very confident showing my legs usually, but the pleated flowy skirt is such a beautiful length and makes me feel feminine and girly, without hiding my legs away. The Kimono dress surprised me with just how flattering it is, and the moment I tried it on I knew it was the one for me. I can't wait for the right occasion to wear it!

A sneak peek at the kimono dress, which I might even do as an outfit post soon..

I now feel so much more excited and prepared for Spring, thanks to George! It's so surprising the amazing and beautiful collection that they have, I fully recommend you take a moment to check out their range.

Now I just have to find someone to take pictures of me in all my lovely new outfits...

What are you wearing this Spring?

Doing: Not much. Lying in bed, browsing blogs making a to-do list for tomorrow.
Reading: Jon Ronson 'So You've Been Publicly Shamed' - it's fucking amazing. So interesting and horrific and scary and wonderful.
Loving: This book. Luna keeping me company while Gary works nights. The 'Deep Focus' Spotify playlist. Haribo. Pineapple bed sheets. Instagram browsing.
Hating: That I don't get paid to write/blog/create. That I'm almost 27.
Wishing: I was a little more motivated for certain things. That weekends were longer.
Wondering: About fear; the positives and the negatives. How far I've come. If I'll ever see some people again.
Planning: Tomorrow; it'll be a crafty/creative/productive day for sure.
Appreciating: Everyone who leaves me sweet comments, or tweet me saying they like my blog. Sounds silly and insignificant, but it's really not. Thank you for giving my soul a place to roam.

I'm feeling pretty nice right now. Sort of in this relaxed, creative, empowering, inspired mood. The kind where I'm not putting pressure on myself for once and I'm just appreciating the moment and all I have.

Speaking of appreciation, I'd like to say a little thank you here to anyone who follows this blog, visits often and takes an interest in this passion of mine. It dragged me up from the ground when I was at my lowest, and it keeps pushing me to be better and better. Knowing that I can write and someone, somewhere, is going to read it; it's powerful. Thank you.

I hope you all have a great Easter Sunday; if that's your thing. Otherwise just enjoy your day :)

A Crafty Surprise

I was recently contacted by Sykes Cottages asking if I'd like to collaborate, and would I be interested in trying out some of their craft kits? Obviously this was something I was really excited about! Soon enough, the most wonderful package made it's way to me and I'm absolutely thrilled to be involved.

Among my lovely surprises were a candle making kit with various scents, a jewellery making kit, an adorable card crafting pack, a button collection, a fabric notebook kit and some tasty treats! I was absolutely thrilled when it all arrived and have been planning a crafty day ever since! So now that Easter weekend is here, I have the perfect opportunity. I'll be sharing my creations and how everything goes in another post soon, but for now I wanted to share my bank holiday weekend plans with you guys.

What will you be getting up to this weekend? :)

The Life Of An Internet Addict

It's 3:30pm and I'm buried under a cocoon of blankets on the sofa, laptop in prime position, my fingers tapping away as the afternoon light starts to dim a little. Another rainy, grey day in England, with the trees outside my window knocking and bustling into each other like early morning commuters. My hair a wild mess of green waves, quickly scooped up into a hair tie out of the way, a few rebellious strands escaping and framing my face. My eyes intent on the screen, lost in my own world for what only seems like a moment. I've been here since first thing in the morning. I've not eaten yet, unless you count the two or three crackers I've devoured almost unawares, before going back to typing again.

To any outsider, sure; I'm wasting my day.
But is living a huge part of my life online always a bad thing?

Obviously there's no substitute for putting down our phones or laptops, and actually getting up and doing something with our day. Technology will never replace real human interaction, or the physical and emotional benefits of being productive away from a screen. But there is still a hell of a lot of good in using these screens to our advantage.

I'd like to simply remind some people that my heavy use of technology isn't always wrong, and it doesn't mean I'm living a life less fulfilling than yours. Yes today it seems like I'm doing 'nothing' just sitting here on a laptop. But I've used these past few hours to GET SHIT DONE. I've written a monthly plan for all college work I need to complete; what assignments need to be done and how I'll do them. I've spent at least an hour replying to emails with various companies about business collaborations, for both personal and professional reasons. I've edited photographs and written pieces for three blog posts that are scheduled for this coming week. I've paid bills, I've ordered my weekly shopping and I've been designing something for a new project.

All in all, I've accomplished a lot today.
And yes, I even managed to fit in chatting on Twitter. This is just part one of my first day off for this bank holiday weekend. The rest of my afternoon/evening will now be spent doing chores, a quick workout, cooking and showering. Tomorrow I'm even venturing outside..

A little reminder not to feel too bad if you're glued to a screen all day; it doesn't mean you aren't busy/productive/doing awesome things. Just remember to eat/drink/talk to people/get fresh air every now and again yeah?

How much time do you spend online?

Five Pretty Blogs

Sometimes there are moments when you just need to share the love, and throw some positive vibes around. So today's post is going to celebrate five other beautiful blogs you should visit. Now, before you think I'm really lovely and sweet, let me clear; I'm being totally selfish. Being positive towards others makes me feel all warm and fuzzy, and I'm in it for the fuzz. (#weirdestquoteever)
There are a few lists of blogs I could have done; Favourite ever blogs, the funniest blogs, most inspiring... etc. But I'm going with the the prettiest, and by that I don't mean that these are pretty with no substance. These blogs all have such wonderful, different qualities and are creative in various ways that I love. But their common feature is that all of them are beyond beautiful and awesome!

So here we go. The five prettiest blogs I follow;

Fine and Dandy

Claire's been one of my personal little sprinkles of joy for a long time. Her blog 'Fine and Dandy' is a constant source of happiness, quirkyness and pretty photos bound to make you fall in love.

Lemon Freckles

Toni's blog 'Lemon Freckles' is the very epitome of cute! Filled with sweet pastels, fun features and amazing illustrations; my little kawaii heart aches every time I visit.

Im Being Erica

Erica's is a blog I've only recently discovered, but I can honestly say my heart has been stolen. It's a place of beauty and brightness! No matter what she's writing about she brings a pretty spark to everything :)

Scribbles Of Valerie

Scribbles Of Valerie is a blog I always come to for inspiration and sweetness on the eyes. Valerie blogs about all the little joys in life and does it in the most elegant way. Pretty is an understatement here, I think you'll agree.

Rebecca Coco

If there's one thing I appreciate in a blog, it's a little bit of pink! Rebecca is clearly another fan of all things girly, and I love it. She's one of the sweetest people, and her blog is a delight of princessy treasures. Worth a visit from all of you!

Will you give these ladies a visit? And would you like to see more blog lists?
Let me know in the comments!

April Interview: Georgina

I'm lucky enough that I remember the very first moment I was struck with the sudden inspiration to start a blog; I was visiting She Might Be Loved. SMBL is a blog written and created by the beautiful Georgina, and she had captivated me instantly with her creativity and quick wit. Today I have the unbelievable pleasure of featuring her for my April interview, and I couldn't be more grateful. I got to have a good old nosey into her life and ask the questions that most interested me!...

1. Why/how did you come up with 'She Might Be Loved'?
It's not a happy story but I guess it is now. I was quite down and pessimistic when I first starting my blog and had a dark sense of humour, I loved Maroon 5 and 'She Will Be Loved' but I obviously couldn't use that, so I let my pessimistic sarcastic attitude change it. I find it strange looking bad, as I was such an unhappy person and I hated my life, but now I'm happier than ever, feeling incredibly loved and I don't think life could get much better.

2. Who or what inspires you most?
It'd odd for me because despite my Mum, who I look up to and adore, I often find inspiration from everywhere. I don't look up to a set amount of people or things, I just look at the World around me and just keep going. I love people who are easily inspired, but I often find that as soon as I start to look up to another person, they'll do something that I don't agree with. It sounds weird, but I'd rather take the positive things from a lot of different people, then have to change my views every now and again to keep following the one who may do something I don't like from time to time.

Hello April

Happy April everyone! I'm rather pleased to say hello to April showers, longer days, and of course.. my birthday! Quite a few reasons already to love April :] But in case you need a few more..
