Party Style With Simply Be

It's creeping closer and closer to the end of the year, and that inevitable 'party season' where we all get a bit more glammed up and glitzy.

I myself don't particularly do parties; but there are lots of family plans, special blog events, romantic meals and drinks out with the other half, and seeing friends for a cocktail or two after work. With Autumn and Winter just around the corner; I love to embrace darker colours, add a little glitter where I can and look my best in outfits that are appropriate for all these types of events.

Keeping this in mind, Simply Be recently got in touch with me and asked if I'd like to try anything from their amazing selection of partywear, and I browsed their website for what seemed like hours, trying to decide on what awesome piece I would choose.

Cute Clothing & Accessories From SammyDress

I recently got super excited when browsing the Sammydress website, as I'd found a whole bunch of adorable clothes that I instantly fell in love with.

It's not usually so easy to find things I love. Shops online either don't offer a plus size range, they only do ugly clothes, they have prices I can't afford, or they don't offer a range of styles. It's really hard to find cute clothing that suits me. I can see maxi dresses and bodycons for days... but no adorable skater dresses that fit in with my cute/casua/kawaii/dressing younger than I really am - sort of style that I aim for.

Until recently that is! I was super happy with the awesome range from Sammydress, where they sell a huge range of wholesale clothes for everyone.

Princess Feelz

It's not often I like the way I look. Okay no, that's an understatement if there ever was one. I hate the way I look really. But I try not to let it hold me back much if I can, because that'd be lame. Positive thoughts and all that. Anyway, so I've wanted to post some outfits on this blog for a long time, and never quite got around to it really... *ahem* /avoided it like the plague. I mentioned recently in this post that my confidence is something I wanted to improve on, and I wanted to push myself more. Since then, the lovely folk over at Vivien of Holloway were kind enough to offer me a dress of my choice to try out, from their inspiring range. I felt pretty in awe to be honest! The range is absolutely astounding and offers a style for everyone. The main focus is 1940's and 1950's style dresses, so think lots of girly/rockabilly styles and flattering shapes - YAY. I was in heaven choosing.

When Brands Just 'Get Me'

Recently I had the immense pleasure of being introduced to GANT; a clothing and accessories brand providing luxury items for the everyday. Usually when browsing brands like this, I feel a little out of place to be honest. I don't wear fancy clothes... I don't have £400 to spend on a shirt. No matter how beautiful the collection, I almost always switch off and never visit again.
I found myself pleasantly surprised with GANT though. Not only do they have a huge collection for men and women in a range of prices and styles; but they really do do everyday beauties that I fell in love with. No better example of this is there than the fabulous little box of gifts they sent me recently. I received two rugger beanie hats, a lambswool woven scarf, and a mens aftershave scent. Now, before you get confused; the mens scent was for Gary! Not me, obviously. But still... it smells absolutely gorgeous.

Halloween Things I Want All Year Round

It's no secret that Halloween is my favourite time of year. A time when the weather is a little darker, greyer and rainier, there's pumpkins everywhere, and it's more than okay to play dress up. I like to keep this feeling going all year round as much as possible (could explain why I have a bat tattoo on my back? Kidding, it's even geekier. It's a homage to Batman!).
Anyway, I've found some special 'Halloween' themed things I've fallen in love with lately and wanted to share them with you guys.

How adorable is this?! I'd totally wear this all year long. However I can't see it staying in the shops for long, so I might have to snap it up soon!

Tie Dye Fun

This week I've been as creative as ever, except I've been working with old clothes rather than paints and canvas. The nice chaps over at Dylon kindly sent me a bunch of dyes to take advantage of in any way I saw fit, and since it's almost Summer I thought a boost of colour is just what I needed.

I found a few old clothes I had hanging around that I was kinda bored of, and decided to give them a little bit of life.

The instructions on the back of each packet made things super easy especially for someone like me. I have a short attention span and if things get too complicated, I get bored. Basically I mixed the powder dyes with water, and then applied it to my clothing in two different ways. With the tops, I twisted them around from the center and quickly tied some rubber bands around them (okay I didn't have rubber bands, so I used old hair bobbles!). Then I used a pipette (yes I just so happened to have one) to add drops precisely where I wanted them, varying in colour.

The second type of application was to fill the sink with the dye solution, and dip the ends of my shorts in. I dipped them half way in, and then left the very ends hanging over the sink for an hour, to really seep in.
I am so, so happy with the results! I've never dyed anything myself before and I can't believe I've been missing out on something so easy.

The swirl patterns turned out awesome and my shorts are so much prettier! They were a washed out light blue before, and now they have a deep bluish/slightlyviolet ombre. (Tip- I mixed a little of the pink and blue together to achieve a lovely purple) I feel so ready for Summer!
I will definitely be buying dyes from now on and I'm already obsessing over what else I can customise in my wardrobe. Also for anyone considering buying any of the fabric dyes, they go a long way. One sachet did well enough for multiple items of clothing, so it's a good idea to plan out beforehand if there's other clothing you want to do in the same colour.

Destroy All Humans!

Recently I was given the chance to try one of the awesome pieces from We Love Bark; an independent t-shirt company in the UK. I have to admit I was totally thrilled with this, because I'd caught WLB's Twitter account over the last few weeks, and they were already on my radar as an awesome one to watch.
The collections they have in at the moment are amazing, so it was really hard to choose with design I wanted. Plenty of sass, pop culture, irony and cute imagery was found as I was hunting for something very 'me'. I just love that they do kind of off beat work, it's such a refreshing alternative to everyone wearing the same top from Primark.
After teasing myself for a while, I finally settled on the 'Destroy All Humans' tee (the Daria one did almost have me though!). This one is definitely made for me. Cute, purple, kinda anti-social... Yes please. It arrived within 2 days and is by far the softest t-shirt I own, seriously. I've worn this a few times already, and gotten a few compliments on Instagram when I posted a photo - yay! It definitely resembles my style, and I'm already looking to get my hands on another soon!
A huge thank you to Allie over at We Love Bark, because she is truly one of the sweetest people. I wish her all the luck and love for her business; I'm extremely passionate about supporting small business and WLB deserves a visit from everyone!

#DressupwithGeorge*

Recently I was offered to be a part of the #DressupwithGeorge campaign from George at Asda*, and I decided to take this as a great opportunity to refresh my wardrobe for Spring. I've always appreciated the quality of George's clothing range for such affordable prices, and I've gotten plenty of my basics there before (tees, vests, underwear, cardigans). However I've never really considered how vast their range is until this campaign come onto my radar, and I was so pleasantly surprised!
I was able to choose a few pieces I thought would be best for me, and you can see all the items I decided on shown above. I really took this as an opportunity to welcome Spring, and also go a little girlier than usual. Pink, florals, skirts and dresses are part of my new challenge for Spring/Summer and the items I chose are so beautiful. 
The two pieces I fell most in love with are the long pleated peach flowy skirt and the floral kimono dress; because they both surprised me more than anything. I'm not very confident showing my legs usually, but the pleated flowy skirt is such a beautiful length and makes me feel feminine and girly, without hiding my legs away. The Kimono dress surprised me with just how flattering it is, and the moment I tried it on I knew it was the one for me. I can't wait for the right occasion to wear it!

I now feel so much more excited and prepared for Spring, thanks to George! It's so surprising the amazing and beautiful collection that they have, I fully recommend you take a moment to check out their range.

Knitwear At Warehouse

As much as I'm getting in the festive spirit this year, I don't think I could ever pull off those novelty Christmas jumpers we're seeing everywhere lately. Sure some of them are really cute and fun, but I'd probably look like a Christmas pudding gone wrong. Plus there's the annoying fact you pay out for them only to wear them for two weeks at most. Hmm.. not for me really. 
With this in mind, I've been mooching through stores trying to find the perfect knitwear for me. Something versatile, super comfy and able to stand the test of time (aka more than two weeks..). Kindly enough, I was contacted by *Warehouse to see if I'd like to review any of their knitwear range. Of course I said yes, and after much deliberating between a few choices I chose the *Noir Slogan Jumper. 

Puurrfect Prints*

Roar! ...is the theme of today's post. Hey guys :)
Lately I've been after some new tees and needing some colour injected into my clothing, because somehow I've gotten into the habit of wearing only neutrals. And as much as I do love neutrals, I found myself getting so bored with the contents of my wardrobe. Like you know when you get annoyed at everything because it's not quite right, or you? Yeah, that.
What better solution than to tweet out asking some recommendations for great Tshirts/designs? (It's at this point you should know I do wear dresses/girly things, but on a day to day basis I am a full on jeans and tee kinda girl!) Within minutes of my tweet, I was contacted by Cat from Catillest.com, who kindly offered to send me not only one of her Tshirt designs, but also a poster print too! I had a look around Cat's website, (as you should too!) and seen that all her designs were all illustrated by herself, and then put onto Tshirts, hoodies, tote bags and prints. She specializes in animal designs, and each month adds a new furry illustration to her list of available prints. You can then choose one of these designs, and what product you would like to incorporate it into. Pretty awesome eh? Even better; you can ask for custom prints too!
Obviously I said UMM YES PLEASE, and she kindly posted them to me within a day or two.

The poster is such beautiful quality; printed on thick, slightly glossy paper. You can see from the photograph above that she puts so much work into every design, down to the smallest detail. This print is now proudly displayed on my wall in my bedroom along with my other favourite Art.
I was going to photograph my drawers (don't be rude!) to show you guys how much colour I seriously lack in my clothing lately, but then realised I'd have to tidy them up & that idea was thoroughly forgotten ;) But just trust me okay? I am the queen of black, grey and white. This does not represent my personality at all, if I say so myself. So when I popped this beautiful forest green tee on, I felt much more like myself! It's fantastic to have such a unique design on my clothing, and is so comfortable to wear. The only thing to take note of, is that I don't find the sizing quite as accurate as I'd have hoped. The Large (which I asked for) is supposed to be a 16-18, and I thought I'd go for something a little baggier just in case. I can say I'm glad I did because all my tops from a whole variety of clothing lines are always no bigger than a 16, and some baggy at that. This one is definitely only fitted at a 16, and while I still find this nice and I've been happily wearing it since; I wouldn't think it was suitable if you are an 18.
However, I am beyond thrilled with these items, and I really can't say enough of how good the quality is. Each item is made with care and love, and it shines through every product. I do suggest you all go take a moment and see if you can find something you love at http://catillest.com/ !

Sunday Style Lusting

I just wanted to do a quick post to show what I'm lusting after on this lovely, lazy Sunday.

I've been after a new smart/casual outfit for a while, maybe a nice blazer and some brogues?

Anyway, I've been mooching around H&M's website and I think I know what I want!

This long jacket is £29.99 and would be a perfect addition to my wardrobe. It's smart, stylish and just right for Spring in England. Not sure if it's going to be chilly even though it looks sunny out? This would be my go to item.

I just personally think it would make any quick outfit look really well put together.

Now whether you wear this outfit with jeans, leggings, chinos etc, you can alternate between different styles of shoes to give a completely different look. Boots for a smart/chic style or pumps for casual cute.

And of course, accessories can make an outfit. So team it with a nice pin, cute necklace or bracelet.

I heart London Loves LA

If you haven't already heard of 'London Loves LA', you might just be about to fall in love.

The London based brand are inspired by all things CALI and Coachella is their most exciting time of year.

Lots of jean shorts, vintage tees and lashings of jewellery.

They have different lookbook styles you can check out to fit any personality; Candyland and Teenage Runaway are my personal faves <3

Even if like me, sadly you aren't going to Coachella; you can feel inspired and stylish with their lovely collection at hand!

Style Crush

Courtney Love: The 90's

Kinderwhore is the name of her style and in the 90's, Courtney made this huge. In fact it's still pretty popular today with it's button down dresses, peter pan collars and pastels.

I've always kind of liked Courtney's clashing grungey/girly style and it's something I wanted to share with you guys whether you love or hate her.

She teamed girly long socks with chunky black shoes, big messy hair, red lips and big black eyes.

She dresses all ranged from torn/grungey pieces to pastel/super sweet button downs.

She had a talent of taking a really pretty, girly style and roughing it up a little.

Teamed with a guitar, she made this style look pretty fierce.

So that's my style crush this month. I'm channeling her through my own wardrobe right now!
