reading
It's not often I talk about books on this blog, which seems ridiculous really considering reading is one of my favourite hobbies ever. I love getting lost in a fictional world for a while, burying my head in something for hours to drown out reality. My favourite types of books are crime fiction, some light fantasy, anything that makes me giggle and those melancholy, pensive ones that stick with you for years.
I thought I'd share with you guys some of my favourite reads from my bookshelf, in case you're ever after a recommendation. Now, I'm not here to list all my favourite books of all time; I'd be here forever. But I will just mention one or two that totally grabbed me, changed me or stuck with me in some way. I probably won't even mention much what they're about; I simply want to share how they made me feel and why I liked them. Stick with me if that's your thing.
Dorkface: The name is a clue right there. I'm not even one of the 'cool without trying/super techy gamer people' (what a terrible description), no; I'm just a dork. I like some things, and I obsess over some things. I thought I'd try cram some of them into a blog post, because it's this big part of my life that doesn't get represented on my blog as much as it should! So here are some things that make me a little bit dorky...

Anyone who knows me personally, knows how much of a bookworm I am. Whether it be on my Kindle (I finally gave in and got one last year), borrowed books from the Library, or brand new, beautiful ones from Waterstones. You can guarantee I'm always in the middle of a book, old or new; and delving into imaginary worlds at every opportunity.
Over the years there have been some editions to my bookshelf which have become firm favourites, and I decided to share some of these with you. Please be kind, because some of these are admittedly embarrassing, but it's so good to indulge isn't it?! - And I'm sure I'm not the only one with guilty pleasures. Although 50 Shades of anything can bugger right off, thank you very much.
So here we have it, my list of repeats I happily experience over & over again;
The Millenium series (The Girl With The Dragon Tattoo..)
The Harry Potter series,
The Perks of Being A Wallflower,
The Complete Sherlock Holmes Collection,
The Gargoyle (Oh my god everyone read this!)
The Hunger Games,
Stargazy Pie,
The Catcher In The Rye,
Twilight series,
How To Be A Woman, (..And this!)
The Cuckoo's Calling,
The Davinci Code,
The Snowman,
The Silence of The Lambs,
The Secret Garden.
I just know there are so many more I'm forgetting about - which annoys me! But I'm sure I'll keep adding to this list if I remember any. Now dear reader I have a request for you! Tell me your favourite reads that you love to revisit, and suggest me anything you think is worth me trying! :)
Hope you're all having a great week!

‘Do you have a vagina? And do you want to be in charge of it? If you said 'yes' to both, then congratulations! You're a feminist.’
If you haven't heard of Caitlin Moran before, then let me introduce you. She is a British Broadcaster, Writer and all round hero of mine.
She is a columnist for The Times and has had four books published so far. My first introduction to her was late one evening browsing Waterstones for my next literary obsession, and boy did I find it.
