W7 In The Night Palette Review

As you can see I've been trying out another W7 palette this week, and what a little treat it is. This palette is all about the smokes, and I couldn't have spotted this at a better time. With Autumn/Winter underway and the even more exciting Halloween almost here, I felt a smokey but vibrant palette was just what my eyes needed.
So we have:
1. Dusty
2. Wonderland
3. Summer
4. Atlanta
5. Abracadabra
6. Top Hat
7. Razzamataz
8. Lady Luck
9. Laura E
10. Party Pooper
11. Gate Crash
12. Bologna
On first look at this palette I definitely think this is more suited for the party season, and it even has some party/magic themed names for the shades, which I love. I feel this is a nice change for me as I've been all about the nudes for the last few months, and this vampy little set is set to shake things up for sure.
My favourite shades are 6, 7, & 8; the violet tones. They have great colour payoff and blend beautifully with many of the other shades. I do find 10, Party Pooper a great little shade to pop in the corner of my eyes to brighten them right up without looking too 'pixie-like'. If I had to pick one I'm not so much a fan of, it would be number 1, because you can hardly see it at all on my skin as I'm so pale. But the rest of the shades are absolutely incredible.
Overall though like I've said before of W7 palettes, the pigmentation is fantastic and the price is so affordable. I bought this from a one off small cosmetics store locally for around £5 but I have had a look about online and you can get it from Argos at £7.49 or Direct Cosmetics for £4.99. I'm not sure if they charge for delivery though. If so, you might want to keep your eye out in smaller cosmetics stores around town like I did!
I think there's something for everyone in this palette whether you're dark or light skinned, or whether you're bold or subtle with your makeup. I'm quite enjoying playing about with these shades to create various looks and I have even discovered a combination which would be great for Halloween makeup! :)
What do you think, would you try this palette?

Art Journal: Going Back

'Going Back'

Another installment into my Art Journal today using pen, pencil, ink and collage. The portrait on the right is actually done from an old photo of myself at first year college. I kind of like it because it reminds me of that exact year, and how awesome it was. I had some great memories and I find sometimes little things can take you right back. Whether it be photographs, letters, drawings, music or scents.

I love sketchy, rough, slapdash work and that's a style I find myself sticking to a lot. It feels like there's a lot more freedom when being spontaneous with Art and I like how there's no set out plan or order to it.

Let me know what you guys think.
I've already started working on my next few pages, I seem to have found some inspiration (yay!). So I will probably be posting more Art Journal stuff in a few days.

Halloween Wishlist ☾

It's no secret to anyone who knows me that Halloween is my favourite holiday of the year, and I love everything about it. Whether it be the chance to dress up, seeing pumpkins/candles everywhere or even just an excuse to get in lots of sweeties! It's all brilliant and I couldn't be happier it's coming up to that time of year again.

I've been subconsciously saving images and ideas for accessories that I can be buying and wearing this month to get the most out of the Halloween theme, and thought I'd share some with you!

Each of these is something I would wear anytime of the year to be honest, my inner goth is still in there and does emerge sometimes! I love the Jack Skellington dress and the adorable little ghost necklace, but my absolute favourite has to be the grey ghost jumper. It's the cutest jumper I've seen in all my Winter clothing searches, and I need to find it as soon as possible!
Unfortunately I saved these images to my computer without noting where they where all from, Doh! After hunting around Google for a long time, I discovered this nice alternative, but they're sold out! It looks like I'll have to keep looking for the perfect ghosty jumper to keep me warm this Winter.

I'm still yet to decide on a costumer/idea for this year, and I'm getting worries now as I usually have it all planned much earlier! Eep.

What do you guys think?
Will you be dressing up for Halloween this year? xx

Autumnal Lipsticks

There is so much Autumn themed makeup around right now, it's difficult to keep up. But there really is nothing better than popping on a dark shade of lipstick to vamp up your look while you stay cosy in those blankets. Or if you have to venture out and face the cold/rainy weather, then you can do so knowing you still look like an Autumnal goddess under that big hood!

Personally I'm still on the hunt for the darkest of darkest shades, a purple so deep it's almost black; that sort of thing. One that preferably will compliment my hair and skin tone rather than make me look like something from Edgar Allen Poe's imagination. Although to be honest that sounds AMAZING to me.

So I've been browsing the high street lipsticks this week, and I've come across two shades that I instantly loved. Rimmel Moisture Renew Lipstick in 'As You Want Victoria', and Topshop 'Wicked'.

The Rimmel is instantly silky soft and bursting full of moisture as I apply and pout away, which I knew it would be as I have a few Rimmel Moisture Renew's already. Great for my dry lips.

Looking at the lipstick it seems quite pinkish and light, which is misleading unless you try it first. The actual shade applies much more of a darker, juicer red. I do very much adore a deep red, so this was a winner.
I found the staying power was okay, but not fantastic. I did eat and drink whilst testing this out, and after around 4 hours I needed a top up. But I'm not too disappointed there, given I only paid £6.49 for this in Superdrug. If you're thinking of trying this, I'd recommend swatching a tester first and see if the shade is right for you, because as I say it does apply darker. I'm very happy it did, as I don't suit pinkish reds, but each to their own.

Now onto the Topshop one. I'll admit this was actually the first time I've tried any Topshop makeup at all! I don't know why but there you go. I'll make more of an effort in future to get to know the range, because it's always nice to try something new :)

This is another that applies so differently than it's appearance. If you look at the actual lipstick, it seems like a chocolate brown. So much so, that I had to double check in the shop that it was in the right packaging! I really don't think I could pull off brown..

Applying this for the first time, I found I did need two layers of this to look 'finished', so maybe the pigmentation isn't as good as the Rimmel. That being said, I loved this colour so much more. Topshop had a huge range of shades to choose from, and this one is a deep plum that just screams Autumn. It might not be that perfect deep, dark shade I've been lusting after, but it definitely packs a kick. I also really like that this isn't as shiny as the Rimmel, it applies like more of a matte lipstick without losing any much needed moisture. I have dry lips, so completely dry matte lipsticks are no good for me.

I found the staying power of the Topshop to be similar to the Rimmel in all honesty. I find it hard to say which was better, as they both lasted around 3/4 hours before needing a top up after eating and drinking. The Topshop Lipstick was £8 though, so maybe I should expect a little more from this?

Above: Rimmel 'As You Want Victoria'. Below: Topshop 'Wicked'.

For high street products with medium price ranges, I'd say these aren't bad. I'd happily buy more from both ranges, and explore more of their shades.

If I was pushed to choose a favourite, I think I'd choose the Topshop 'Wicked'. I know the pigmentation isn't as great as the Rimmel and it's a little more in price, but it's not enough to put me off the product as a whole. I love this shade and I can see me wearing it plenty this Autumn!

What do you guys think, have you tried from either range?

Tag Tag Tag!

Here are the rules:
1. Link the blogger who nominated you and their own blog.
2. Include the award logo on your own blog. 3. Answer their 10 questions. 4. Make up 10 questions for the bloggers you nomiate. 5. Nominate 10 bloggers to do the award.

It's a fun tag day! The gorgeous Francine from The Graduate Goddess tagged me and set some lovely little questions for me to answer :) I think this is great because it means the questions are constantly changing as the tag gets passed on, and you learn new things about each blogger!
So here we go..

1. What type of music do you like most?
I am a fan of lots of emo to be honest haha. Punk rock and chilled indie floats my boat a bit too. I'd say they were my favourite genres, but I can also love artists such as Eminem, FOE and even Taylor Swift! Lol.

2. What 3 things would you take with you to a desert island?
My laptop because I can't live without it. Some art supplies to stay creative.. and a huge supply of books? Is that allowed? Ok just my kindle ;)

3. Which are your favourite beauty blogs/YouTube channels?
You can see my favourite blogs here, and my favourite Youtuber of all is Louise Sprinkle of Glitter. She is so funny, down to earth and gets on with everyone. Plus her daughter is TOO adorable!

4. What are your favourite types of blog post to read? and to write?
I love lifestyle ones mostly I think, even though I'm open to anything as long as it's written and presented well. I like when people share little snippets of their life through photographs and I like to do this myself too :)

5. If you won the lottery tomorrow, what would be the first thing you bought?
A lovely house for me and Gary <3 Then our two doggies we want!

6. What is your number one favourite beauty product?
This is so hard.. but I think to be honest I always come back to Benefit High Beam. I just think it's beautiful and it always makes me feel better if I'm having an off day.

7. If you could only use one beauty brand for the rest of your life, which would it be?
MAC.

8. Diamonds or pearls?
Diamonds. Its my birthstone!

9. What's your autumn make up look going to be?
Dark eyes and plum lips! And tousled hair :)

10. Do you have a secret beauty tip which you tell everyone?
Try to go as long as you can between washes with your hair! Seriously it helps it soo much. I've recently noticed mine is much softer and conditioned. Less heat is obvious too but important.

And there we have it!
So my questions are:

1. If you had to change your name, what would it be?
2. What's one thing you really believe in?
3. What is your favourite physical feature?
4. What beauty product do you buy religiously?
5. Favourite book of all time?
6. Name ONE blogger you admire or relate to most?
7. Give us one random fact about yourself?
8. Tea/Coffee/Hot chocolate?
9. Last thing to make you angry?
10. What is your favourite thing about blogging?

And the people I tag are...

Please don't feel like you have to do this tag :) It's just there if you fancy it.
Let me know if you do and leave the link in the comments for me to check out!

Home From Plymouth

So last night I got home from Plymouth, where I've been since Wednesday if you didn't already know. My boyfriend Gary is from there, and we went to visit his family for a long weekend, so I haven't had a chance to blog anything as I was enjoying time away from the computer.
We had a lovely few days there with sunny but crisp weather which was great. Gary got to see friends and family, and we even attended a gorgeous wedding party. Unfortunately I didn't get many photographs as I only had my phone with me at the time.

The photographs above show some amazing views, which are right outside Gary's family home. I love this view and never tire of it whenever I visit Plymouth, as the view we have here in Liverpool is so different.

We even got to see stags, deer and foxes up close as they all regularly roam the fields in front of the house at night. I am absolutely gutted I don't have photographs of this but it was so hard to get a good photo at night, and we didn't want to spook them.

I had such a lovely time, and it felt refreshing to have time away to ourselves without responsibility. I'm sorry I haven't had a blog post up in like 6 days, but I'll be back on track from now on!

Hope you enjoyed having a look at some of our photographs.
What have you guys been up to?!

Zoella Beauty: Fizz Bar Review

Zoella Beauty Fizz Bar

Unless you've been hiding under a rock recently, you'll have heard all about Zoe Sugg's new beauty range which was released in the last few days. As a fan of 'Zoella' myself, I thought I would indulge my curiosity and try out the product that most appealed to me. The Fizz bar seems the most interesting item available; shaped like a chocolate bar and able to break off into handy chunks as & when you like.

Zoella Beauty Fizz Bar

The first thing I did when I opened this was have a little smell. The best thing about a lovely bath product is having something with a gorgeous scent, am I right? The Fizz Bar is sweet, a little floral but very light and pleasant. I think scent is such a personal thing, and you aren't going to please everyone every time. Personally floral scents are my favourite, I'm definitely more of a fan of light and sweet rather than stronger woody/spicy perfumes, so the Fizz Bar caters perfectly to me. You might want to have a smell of the body mist Zoella has also released, as I have heard this is the same sort of scent. So then you can decide if you like it before you buy the Fizz Bar.

Once popped in the bath, the little chunks began fizzing away and sent my bathtub into a little bubbly lather. Not like a bubble bath I might add, just little poppets of fizz bursting under the water. It left the water with what I can only describe as a silky touch, and heavenly scent. My skin felt really smooth and soft afterwards, and I have quite sensitive skin so I'm impressed it didn't cause a reaction.

Overall I think the Fizz Bar is a wonderful new addition to my relaxing bath routine. I'm fairly pleased with it and wouldn't mind recommending you guys to try it. Even if it's just for the sheer fun and satisfaction of tearing off a chunk or two and watching it fizz away! It's not mind blowing or so amazing that I'm going to buy it all the time, but I will happily pop it in with my shopping every now and again as a treat. You can't moan that her whole range isn't affordable, as everything is reasonably priced in my opinion. Which I think it should be since she has such a young target audience mostly. And this definitely feels more luxurious than the price tag would suggest.

Will you be trying any of the Zoella Beauty range?
