Silver Linings

Another month is over and done with, and to be honest with you; June was pretty lame all in all. My poor kitty got sick and needed lots of extra love and care, vets bills were a total bitch, we had some bad news in the family, and everything that could have gone wrong DID. It weren't the worst time ever of course, and there are silver linings everywhere. But I'm looking forward to going into July, and seeing it as a fresh new start!

The best things about June were losing 16lbs in weight (woo), getting to collaborate with some awesome brands, trying new things (hello more outfit posts and makeup looks SOON), finalising some awesome stuff for The Girl Gang event and having time off with Gary. Well, time off for him, I was constantly working away as always. But it was nice to have him in the background obviously. He kept me stocked up on cups of tea and nibbles, as I stared into the seemingly bottomless chasm of work piling up around me.

I finished Orange Is The New Black (weep), and I've started watching Greys Anatomy ALL OVER AGAIN. I forgot how much I disliked Izzie and George, but I love the show so much I'm happy to have to rewatch their faces. Everyone else who I know who watches the show seems to miss those characters, which I find weird. I loathed them, so whiny and annoying. I do miss Christina though, I will forever be her number one fan.

Weight Loss; My First Month

Let's face it; being healthy is boring. It just IS. I can't relate to anyone who disagrees, but good for you if you do! Anyway, as a lot of you know I've spent the last few weeks trying to be a healthier person inside and out. And because I find all this healthy malarky boring, it can be quite a struggle sometimes. However I've been trying out different things to really help me make positive changes. I've started giving myself a step goal each day, which I track them on my phone. I'd love a Fitbit, but jeez that price. I've also started Slimming World which has been a huge help.

In my first four weeks I lost a total of 16lbs, and I'm extremely happy with this. I still have a long way to go to get to my ideal weight, but progress is awesome. I thought today I'd share with you guys the little things that have helped me so far, and what has made the biggest difference.

Browns Afternoon Tea

Recently I was invited to enjoy a Royal Afternoon Tea at the wonderful Browns Bar and Brassiere in the heart of Liverpool, and I popped along with my Mum to see what they had in store for us. The Royal Afternoon Tea was part of a month long celebration for the Queen's birthday, and even though I hate the Monarchy; I'm not averse to a good celebration or afternoon tea.

We were greeted by lovely staff, and offered a British Royal Cocktail upon arrival; however being on good behaviour with my Mum and all that, I thought it best to stick to tea.

Laura Geller And Laura Mercier

One of my favourite things in the world, is trying out new makeup. Finding a whole new brand, or simply trying a new range from your favourite brand, can be just awesome can't it?! If you don't agree, I just can't relate sorry, haha. I'm a makeup fiend. I want everything, and I want it now. I'll try anything, from Primark's little range, to high end lippies that cost more than my weekly shop. It's good for the soul, I reckon.

Recently I was contacted about the House of Fraser beauty range (something I'm already a huge fan of!) and was asked if I'd like to try anything? Erm... YES. Yes I would. Now as tempted as I was to run to my favourites; Urban Decay and MAC, I forced myself not to. Sometimes it's good to try new things. So I opted for two brands I've actually not tried at all before. The two Laura's in fact; Laura Geller and Laura Mercier.

My two favourite beauty products ever, are foundation and lipsticks; they're just THE BEST THINGS. Plus I love growing my collection of each (one day I'll share my lipstick collection, I'm pretty impressed with it tbh).

Confidence & Clothing

I'm in the process of a transformation this year. I'm making a lot of life changes and it's really shaping who I am and how I present myself to the world. All positively I hope, of course. But it's scary and hard and daunting and... just plain old boring from the outside I imagine.

Some of the hardest challenges I've set myself include becoming a healthier, fitter person. I hope to drop quite a few dress sizes, and really love my body again; but it's such a hard thing to do. Then my next challenge is to try grow my confidence, and do outfit posts. Eventually getting to the point where I hopefully do unique, exciting, quirky outfit posts that really show off who I am. But again, this shit is not easy.

Quick Tips To Organise Your Blog

Ever feel like your blog needs a good ol' Spring clean? Sometimes we focus so much on publishing new blog posts, improving our photography, scheduling tweets and such; that we forget to take a proper look at the whole of our blog, including the small details which can make a big difference.

I can relate to this, having such a hectic schedule. I don't necessarily have time on a daily (or even weekly!) basis to tidy up my blog properly, but every few months I will make a point of sitting down and trying to refresh it a little and keep things relevant.

So today I thought I'd share with you guys the top tips I use to spring clean my blog :) This is also a great list of things you can do if you want your blog to be at it's very best, even if you aren't in the mood to write new posts. I hope it helps!

10 Ways to quickly organise and refresh your blog;

1. Theme - Let's start with the basics. Do you like your current theme? Is it really attracting readers, making the most of your photographs, giving you space to have a proper sidebar/about me with your social media links? If not, switch it up! You can actually purchase amazing ones super cheap. Try Etsy!

Beginners Pinterest Guide

Pinterest Guide

I'm a bit of a Pinterest obsessive, it's fair to say. I have 57 boards and almost 6000 pins over on my Pinterest, and I'm sure it'll just continue to grow to be honest. I always liked collecting, even as a kid. Whether it was stickers, Mr Men books, or Pogs. These days I'm still in the habit of collecting, except now it's a digital version, in the form of pinning.

I love the organisational side of Pinterest, it really satisfies me. I love putting everything into categories, and then saving things for later. Even if sometimes 'later' never comes (who can really say they're ever gonna do ALL the cool DIY pins they save?). I like knowing I have this huge source of information, ideas, inspiration and visuals sitting there ready for whenever I want.

Today I thought I'd share with you a little of my favourite things from my Pinterest, and some little tips; in the hopes that you'll find this as fun as I do. If you're new to Pinterest, this might even help spark your interest or give you some idea of the possibilities with it.

Firstly, let me begin by sharing my five rules for my own Pinterest, and how I organise it all. (Remember, this is just my opinion!)

15 Things To Be Thankful For

15 things to be thankful for

Let's face it; life is sometimes crappy, bad hair days happen, things go wrong, people hurt us and the world keeps on spinning out more ways to make us feel shittier each day. It's tempting to give in sometimes and get a little down about it all, but mostly I think really trying to keep a positive attitude can make a big difference to your personal well being. Remind yourself of all the great little things around you, and things might start to look a little rosier again.

So today, here are my 15 things I feel thankful for;

1. The rain. It's glorious, calming, comforting and full of relief after a week of constant heat. I would never tire of the rain. Even if I get caught in it and my hair gets wrecked and my feet are cold, I do still bloody love a good rainy day.

2. New underwear. Whether someone else is seeing it or not, is there anything as fabulous as new underwear? Shaking my arse around in my new Hello Kitty knicks is the best thing ever.

3. Chocolate. I've done really good the past month and totally cut out crappy food and drinks from my diet, but let me tell you; that doesn't stop me appreciating the wonder of chocolate. Instant feel good-ness(? lol). Did you know it was the Aztecs who basically discovered chocolate? Them lads are ledges.

4. Blogging. It;s just damn good isn't it, tbh? Perks include regular creative boosts, using your brain daily to write, meeting new people, and being given the odd freebie. Yep, I love it. I'm thankful I've found my little part of the internet.

(It's just occurred to me that numbers 1-4 are basically describing my perfect day. So for my next birthday just bring me all the chocolate, new undies, do a rain dance for me and basically leave me to blog, okay? Okay.)

Zoella Beauty Sweet Inspirations

Zoella Beauty Sweet Inspirations

Last week Zoella's new beauty range; Sweet Inspirations hit Superdrug stores, and I for one couldn't help but be totally attracted to its adorable pastel packaging - it's so ME. The range consists of eight products, including Double Creme moisturiser, Bath Latte bath and shower milk, and the Sugar Dip bath salts; as shown above.

I put in a little Superdrug order recently, and decided to add these three products to my basket to give them a try.

Revolucion De Cuba Bloggers Night

Five reasons Revolucion De Cuba Liverpool is amazing;

1. Alcohol is taken seriously. Especially Rum. Rum rhymes with YUM. No coincidence.
2. The layout is GORGEOUS.
3. The food... oh my god the food. It's amazing, and I'm a fussy eater.
4. The staff are absolutely hilarious/super friendly/awesome.
5. It's located in the heart of Liverpool, with an amazing view of the docks.

Hi guys! Hope you're all having a good week. Today I've sort of just ran right into this post, because I'm so excited to share it with you. Seriously, I'm here to tell you about my new favourite spot in Liverpool.

Last week, I was lucky enough to be invited along to Revolucion De Cuba at Liverpool Albert Docks along with a few other awesome local bloggers, and it was perfect. We had the best night together, and I cannot thank the guys at Rev De Cuba enough.

Meet Luna..Again

If you're a long time reader of this blog, you may remember just over a year ago, I introduced you all to little Luni. She looks so tiny in that post, I can't bear how cute it is, haha! Anyway, it's been so long now since; and even though I show snippets of her here and there sometimes in blog posts; I thought it was time I do a little update post for the little lady in my life.

Luna was born on Valentines day 2015, and she's grown quite a bit since then. I knew she was the one for me the moment I seen her, and since she came home with me she's made the place truly hers. She lives up to true cat stereotypes, in that she is a sassy pants.

Things Luna demands;

Dreamies on a daily basis.
Cuddles and affection at 5am.
A good view of the birds outside.
No petting if she's not in the mood.
More dreamies.
New toys often.
Never being locked out of any room, ever. Because she's too nosey.

Life This Week

Lush Comforter

Happy Saturdayyy!

This week can be summed up in one word; HEAT. I hate it. Although thank god today is now rainy, which means it should cool down a little - yay!

It's been harder than ever to tuck myself away in my little office and get to work in this stupid, clammy heat. But I've managed to get plenty done still, thankfully. Sticker packs are in full flow, and I've sent off a lot of deliveries this week which is awesome. I'm feeling SUPER creative, which means I'm in that great mood where I want to paint, doodle, make things, and all that jazz. I'm trying to make the most of it while Gary's in work, so I can work away undisturbed. So maybe you'll see some new creations from me in the next week.

My favourite people I've stalked this week include Franzi, Mark, and Lima. They each ooooooze (what a horrible word) creativity in different ways, and I've found that really inspiring!

Hair Styling Essentials

I have a weird relationship with my hair, if I'm being honest.

I love my colour, green really is just so 'me', and I love having a vibrant shade. I really don't feel like myself if I have my hair brown, even though that's my natural colour. I love how shiny and soft my hair feels, and I'm grateful for that.

However, I really don't like how much I damage the ends of my hair due to constant colouring, straightening, and basically not being very nice to it. I also don't like my natural waves. They're the frizzy, barely there kind of mess that nobody wants. Nowhere near straight and sleek, but definitely not a pretty wave/curl. I've always spent so much time straightening it and damaging it further, just to 'calm it down' a little. So I knew I needed a bit of a fix.

I was kindly sent the amazing H2D Magicurl X3 styling wand* recently, and I thought I might as well give it a little try. Oh, you should know right now that I have tried for YEARS to wave/curl my hair with straighteners and I just can't do it! Seriously, I'm crap. It just doesn't work for me. So I can never really have my hair anything but boringly straight.

Why I Quit University

Hi guys, today I thought I'd share some of my little life experience, and explain why a few years ago I dropped out of University, and never looked back.

So if you don't know already, I'm a drop out.
I'm one of those disappointments, those quitter-type people.

I'm at the young (yes, young) age of 28 right now, but a few years back at around aged 19; I set off for the University of Bolton with wide eyes and big hopes. I weren't at all nervous about starting uni, because I'd had an amazing college experience. After leaving school, I did three years on an Art and Design course at a local college; and it was the best time ever. I made friends for life, developed my skills, encouraged my passions and felt like I was truly at home. So with some great grades (showing off now) I headed to a university I thought was right for me and looked forward to starting a new adventure.

20 Things I Know About Life

I'm in my late twenties, and I'm hoping by now I've learned a thing or two about life. Of course, I can only learn things from my own experiences and point of view, but I hoped to share with you guys today 30 things I know to be true about life. Or, my life, to be more specific.

1. It goes too damn quick. (Seriously I was 17 like 5 minutes ago, what happened??)

2. It's not fair all the time.

3. You won't always know what you're doing. In fact, it'll be a rare blessing if you do.

4. It's okay to waste a weekend watching Youtube videos and binging on Netflix.

Manuka Doctor Skincare

I'm in my late twenties now, and nearing thirty terrifies me. Skincare is SO important to me, as I'm trying my best to avoid crows feet and smile lines as much as possible. However I'm a happy sort of person, so not smiling or moving my face isn't an option ;) So getting some great skincare products is a must!

I was recently asked by Manuka Doctor if I'd like to give their products a try, and I was intrigued. They use Manuka oil and honey in a range of products, which is supposed to have a huge range of benefits. I haven't used anything like this before, so I did a bit of research (okay I Googled it...) to see what sort of thing I could expect. Apparently Manuka oil has relaxing properties to help with anxiety, stress, depression, and Manuka honey can help with the appearance of fine lines, nourishing the skin and brightening. All sounds good eh? So I decided to give it a go.

5 Things You Learn When Living With A Partner

When Disney told us we'd find Prince (or princess!) Charming, they left Cinderella and the gang to go off into the sunset, and we were left thinking that happily ever after into blissful perfection was a given. However what happens when they get home? Does Charming ever get annoyed with Cinderella's constant singing? Does she get riled up if she has to tidy up after him? I started thinking about these things and giggling to myself, when I recently watched through some of my favourite Disney fairy tales.

I've lived with more than one partner before, and now I've lived with my boyfriend Gary for over 3 years. So today I wanted to talk about some of the things I realised from living with a partner.
